RUM COMPAGNIE DES INDES FOURSQUARE 10 YEARS 57.3

Compagnie des Indes Barbados 10 years is a blend of molasses rums produced by Foursquare, an independent family distillery located in the south of the Saint-Georges Valley, Barbados.

The rums were distilled in March 2011 in a pot still and a column still, then aged first on site in an ex-bourbon oak barrel. The selected barrel was then repatriated to France by the Compagnie des Indes to be bottled there in November 2021.

Bearing the number BH321, this barrel released a total of 329 copies for the world, bottled without reduction and without cold filtration.

Tasting

Nose : toasted oak sets the tone from the outset, without giving the impression of too much roasting. Balance is therefore also essential, especially as the sweet spices also begin to develop from the start, with vanilla in the lead.

Aeration allows the wood to escape a little, to dilute and clear the landscape, which allows us to appreciate some waves of velvety exotic fruits. We then perceive scents of thick mango and pineapple juice, mixed with vanilla coconut milk.

Mouth : shows a completely delicious concentration, where soft wood, blond tobacco, caramel, very dark vanilla and toasted coconut mix. The intensity is there, but also the roundness and the oily side, which makes the experience particularly comfortable and tasty. This roundness even has something cereal, malty, which evokes a very round bourbon.

Finish: returns to drier and spicy notes, with roasted coffee and cocoa throughout.
