Founded in 1918, Caroni is a West Indian distillery owned by the state of Trinidad and Tobago. It is renowned for its heavy rums , typical of the English-speaking islands. In 2002, the government decided to close the distillery, leaving a huge stock preserved in oak barrels, to the delight of aficionados.
The Caroni rums on the market today are highly coveted rarities.
