Once upon a time, Dublin was at the heart of the Whiskey industry in the Republic of Ireland ! No less than 37 smoking distilleries, concentrated mainly in the Liberties district, were listed there.
It was here that Walter Teeling set up his distillery in 1782. Dublin Whiskeys, with their smooth character, had the reputation of being among the best Whiskeys in the world. The last distillery in Dublin unfortunately went out of business in 1976 for economic reasons.
This prestigious brand experienced a true renaissance when the Teeling brothers (Jack and Stephen) decided to open a new distillery, the very first creation of distilleries in Dublin in 125 years.
This distillery operates with three 'Pot still' type stills, according to the tradition of Dublin distilleries.
A blend of malt and grain, Teeling Small Batch Whiskey has aged for several years in traditional barrels before being refined for several months in Nicaraguan rum barrels. This original finish quickly became the signature of this famous House.
Color: This Teeling Whiskey has a golden hue.
Nose: On the nose, the fragrances of vanilla and spices unfold then subtly give way to the scents of rum and molasses. What follows is an attractive evolution of citrus fruits, cereals and black fruits.
Mouth: The tasting gives way to a creamy impression highlighted by the presence of fruity notes: apricot, rhubarb and raisins rub shoulders with a base of gourmet hot chocolate.
Bottling at 46% is done without cold filtration in order to preserve all the flavors of the whiskey and rum.
