Announced with a phenol level of 40 ppm , Big Peat handles its powerful peaty very well. This Blended Malt is in fact a blend of several Single Malts from the island of Islay . The character on the bottle, named Pete for play on words, is a benevolent caricature of the people of Islay.
Not cold filtered , it retains all its aromatic qualities and will delight fans of very peaty whiskeys.
Color : gold color , ultimately quite light which is logical since this blend focuses on peat and not on aging.
Nose: enthusiasts will easily detect the characteristic peat of Islay with aromas reminiscent of a fireplace and a medicinal side .
Mouth: still this very smoky side of the peat persisting on the finish which nevertheless allows some menthol notes to be perceived.
