Born in 1825, William Larue Weller was one of the early pioneers in Kentucky. He is recognized as a legend by connoisseurs, being the first to have distilled a wheat bourbon, using wheat instead of rye in the mash bill.
The story of William Larue Weller is closely linked to another bourbon legend. In 1893, Weller hired the young Julian Van Winkle of the family and famous Pappy Van Winkle bourbon brand.
Produced at the world's most awarded distillery, WL Weller is aged for twelve years, much longer than most wheated bourbons, offering unparalleled depth and taste.

Tasting
Nose : Notes of almond, toasted corn and creamy vanilla are expressed gracefully in a crème brûlée style with a mentholated freshness.
Palate : On the palate, wheat takes over over a background of complex and deliciously rounded notes of toasted wood, caramel, cinnamon and cherries.
Finish : The finish is long, with dark chocolate, woody notes and intense sweetness.
