CHARMES-CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2009 LOUIS LATOUR 75 CL

CHARMES-CHAMBERTIN GRAND CRU 2009 LOUIS LATOUR 75 CL

About the domain

A family business since its founding in 1797, Maison Louis Latour is among the most renowned wine merchants and producers in Burgundy. It has remained a family business for over two centuries and is thus part of the exclusive circle of Henokiens. Florent Latour, representing the 11th generation, has been at its helm since the passing of his brother, Louis Fabrice. Maison Louis Latour has gradually built up a vast estate, stretching from Chambertin to Chevalier-Montrachet: 48 hectares, 28 of which are Grand Cru vineyards, supplemented by purchased grapes. It cultivates Pinot Noir for its reds and Chardonnay for its whites. Over the last thirty years, the company has also expanded into the Ardèche, the Var, and the Pierres Dorées region (Beaujolais), where it also produces Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The house has committed itself to a decidedly more ecological and respectful approach to the land with the adoption of sustainable agriculture (limiting pesticides, composting, plowing certain plots with horses).

About the vintage

This rich and velvety Charmes-Chambertin is aged for 10 to 12 months in new oak barrels (French oak from the Louis Latour cooperage). It reveals aromas of blackcurrant, licorice, and cocoa, along with woody notes. It has an aging potential of 10 to 15 years.
