The Foursquare Distillery in Barbados was founded by the Seale family in the mid-1990s. The Seales, who have been bottling rum in Barbados for more than five generations, own a series of heritage brands that now feature Foursquare Rum as main component.

Barbados 2010 was distilled by Foursquare on pot stills and column stills and aged for the first five years in ex-bourbon barrels and ex-whiskey barrels for a further five years. This Foursquare spent 5 years in the tropics. The cask yielded 259 bottles containing the spirit at 61.1% ABV.
