The Saint-James brand owes its existence to Father Edmond Lefébure. This learned alchemist—superior of the Brothers of Charity—quickly recognized the potential of the brandy produced near his hospital. From then on, he dedicated himself to creating a high-quality spirit, the sale of which grew among the colonists of New England.
At the time, he created a brand which he named Saint-James. Today, this brand is one of the most emblematic of Martinique, proudly bearing the flag of agricultural rums holding the AOC, a recognized label of excellence.
Two hundred and fifty years later, during the magnificent Saint-James anniversary evening, this majestic decanter was unveiled to us... The result of a collaboration between Marc Sassier - the brand's oenologist - and Myriam Bredas - the cellar master in this beautiful house.

By offering this decanter, Saint-James invites us on an initiatory journey of taste, taking us through time and, in doing so, the history of the brand. In creating this decanter, Saint-James sought to combine heritage, artisanal expertise, and aromatic intensity; this anniversary cuvée is therefore composed of several of the most celebrated and finest vintages in the House's collection.
Let's start with one of the oldest, the 1885, created in 1881. At the time, this vintage was presented in a bottle set in tin, the label was glued on by hand.
In addition to this exceptional vintage, there are those of 1934 and 1952, and then more recent vintages: 1976, 1998 and 2000.
With its exquisite aromatic intensity, this exceptional rum combines elegance, subtlety, and mastery. Woody, roasted notes—characteristic of the Saint-James tradition—mingle with the rich aromas and fruity notes imparted by more recent vintages. Saint-James has simply created an exceptional rum.
