Famille Ricci Hommage 2022 is a cuvée made in honor of a figure in the world of rum. The previous edition of 2021 was a tribute to Guillaume Ferroni. For 2022, the Ricci Family has chosen to pay tribute to an old brother, Anthony Martins, known to be one of the two “old brothers”. You have certainly heard of him, and perhaps also of his bottling company Old Brothers Independent Bottlers, his Toulouse cellar “La Source”, as well as the distribution company of the same name. Finally he created the company WorldEsters.
For those who know Anthony, this blend actually seems perfect to represent him: Jamaican high ester rums have been blended.
The first is a white rum from the Hampden distillery which bears the mark <>H (Diamond H). Its ester level is between 900 and 1000 g/hlap. It is associated with two other rums from the same distillery, a 2008 vintage rum from the HJF mark (former mark which is now part of the HLCF mark), and a 2009 DOK vintage (ester level between 1500-1600 g /hlap).
The aging was carried out in bourbon barrels and the bottling was carried out without reduction, at 63.8°. 220 bottles were made.
