Early storage: best enjoyed from 2022 onwards and can be kept for decades.
Tasting notes from 2019 by James Suckling: "It displays beautiful purity with striking aromas of lemons and limes, as well as fresh yellow grapefruit and a strong wet stone character. The palate has immense power with precision and concentration, delivering a long and regal finish of such power and length. Three hectares in Corton, 1.8 of which are planted with white grapes. Try it from 2022 onwards."

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The "Corton" wines are Grand Cru vineyards from the commune of Aloxe-Corton, located in the northern part of the Côte de Beaune, and are situated on the renowned "Rognon de Corton" (Corton Kidney). More than half of the Aloxe-Corton vineyard area is planted with Grand Cru vines, which is exceptional in Burgundy. The exposure varies between south and southwest.
FEATURES
The "Pougets" vineyard occupies a unique location on the Corton hillside, the original site of the Corton Charlemagne appellation. Facing east-south, it benefits from maximum sun exposure. It originates from the Louis Jadot estate (1.54 hectares). The soil is brown limestone with silty scree. The subsoil is primarily marl and limestone.
VINIFICATION AND AGING
The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates to preserve the integrity of the fruit. They are then carefully hand-sorted and destemmed. Maceration takes place in open wooden or stainless steel vats for three to four weeks. The vats are punched down twice a day during fermentation. The wine is aged for approximately 18 months in barrels from our cooperage, about a third of which are new.
