The property
Located in the Côte de Beaune, in Meursault, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is one of Burgundy's legendary wine estates. Bearing witness to over 1000 years of history, the Domaine du Château de Meursault is a true gem among the great wines of Meursault , and is now owned by the Halley family.
The vineyard
The Meursault Premier Cru "Les Charmes" 2018 from Domaine du Château de Meursault is produced from a 1.6 hectare terroir planted on soils composed of hard Jurassic limestone and marly limestone.
Winemaking and aging
Once the grapes are hand-harvested, the berries undergo a slow and gentle pressing. After static settling, the must is transferred to oak barrels for alcoholic fermentation. Each plot is vinified and aged separately to preserve the authentic expression of its terroir. Each barrel is meticulously monitored throughout the winemaking process. The wine is then aged for 15 to 18 months in oak barrels (35% new oak, along with barrels that have held one or two wines). The barrels are blended before bottling.
Assembly
