Founded by Andrea Ferrari in 2013, Hidden Spirits is a relatively new Italian independent bottling company and online whiskey store, which prides itself on the meticulously curated selection of its bottlings. Hidden Spirits has its bottle labels designed by different Italian artists, and offers a variety of expressions in several series. Today the company has distribution agreements in Germany, Hong Kong, Australia, Bulgaria and the United Kingdom.

Ledaig is produced at the Tobermory Distillery , located on the Isle of Mull , off the west coast of Scotland . Established in 1798, it remains the only whiskey distillery on the Isle of Mull and one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland. In 1797, John Sinclair, a kelp seaweed merchant, requested a lease of 57 acres of land in the area known as Ledaig in order to build housing and a distillery. However, the application was rejected and he only received permission to build a brewery. Not one to give up easily, he stuck to his original plan and a year later the Ledaig Distillery was established. In the 1930s, the Great Depression and a decade of Prohibition in the United States saw demand for whiskey plummet, causing the distillery to shut down for 41 long years. It reopened in 1993 after being purchased by Burn Stewart Distillers. Since 2013, the distillery has belonged to Distell.
