Unveiled in Japan as a limited edition on May 29, 2012, the Nikka Taketsuru 25 Year Old is now arriving in Europe, albeit in very limited quantities. Like the rest of the Taketsuru range, which includes 12, 17, and 21-year-old bottlings, this pure malt whisky comes from Nikka's two distilleries in northern Japan: Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Created in homage to their founder, Masataka Taketsuru, the Nikka Taketsuru is an iconic whisky for the Japanese brand. Composed of malts aged for at least 25 years, this new gem offers floral aromas, with subtle sherry notes and a sweetness imparted by its long aging. All of this is enhanced by a touch of peat.
