Adelphi Selection is for those who appreciate Scottish single malt whiskies, who are not interested in consistency, but rather in capturing every little nuance that is different from cask to cask, from year to year and above all concerned with drinking the highest quality of whiskey available commercially. They are of a stronger proof than normal brands in circulation (the exact proof varies with the age of the Scotch whisky), with small additions of water everyone will find the right dose to achieve the desired balance. Adelphi is completely independent of multinationals and has the freedom to select single malts from numerous distilleries, putting its name only on whiskey of exceptional quality. The choice falls only on whiskey aged in barrels that have contained Bourbon and Sherry, with the conviction that only these types of barrels are the vehicle to obtain the best results. Any other type of wood would mask the intrinsic qualities of the distillate. With the help of Scottish whiskey guru Charles MacLean, Adelphi selects only about 41% of the whiskeys offered to it. Only the best single casks are bottled with the Adelphi label.
