The grapes that make up the "Ligne de Crête" cuvée come from the vineyards of the Delas Frères properties, on the highest part of the Hermitage hill: the lieu-dit "Les Grandes Vignes".
Soils : Here we find the primary geological origins, the bedrock. This is where the layer of soil is thinnest, and this is where the Syrah grape variety draws its deepest, most intimate substrate from the AOC.
Climate : At a slight altitude, the moderately windy character provides a gentle and relative coolness during the hottest episodes of summer.
Production area : 2.31 hectares
Grape variety : 100% Syrah
On the nose, subtle aromas of spice and leather unfold into a balanced palette of dark berries: blackberry, redcurrant – with captivating hints of flowers, licorice, and incense. Richness, complexity, and delicacy are not mutually exclusive. Possessing a beautiful minerality, all elegance and finesse, the wine asserts the nobility derived from the finest granite of the Hermitage massif. On the palate, the attack is rich and dense. The wine is elegant, full-bodied, and flavorful. The ripe, smooth, and well-integrated tannins contribute to a powerful and balanced structure. The flavors echo the aromas observed on the nose. The palate is further enhanced by notes of blueberry, black raspberry, violet, and dark chocolate. Structurally, harmony and balance are the defining attributes of "Ligne de Crête."
