Opened in 2000, this distillery built near the Brecon Beacons National Park, revived the ancient tradition of Welsh whiskey. Unique fact in the whiskey industry: the distillery has a pair of Faraday stills, named after their creator. This copper still is topped with a distillation column allowing it to harvest the purest distillate, at 92%. Penderyn is an innovative distillery on this aging. A distillery which places the quality of its products at the center of its concerns, offering itself the services of the famous master distiller Jim Swan since its opening.
This Penderyn is matured in barrels that contained Moscatel wine.
Profile: complex, the first nose is malty, medicinal (balm) and fruity (lemon, pear, Mirabelle plum).
