The Kill Devil brand, launched in 2013, belongs to the Hunter Laing group, an independent Scottish bottler originally specializing in whiskey, based in Glasgow. Kill Devil rums are aged and bottled in Scotland, without additives or filtration, in order to highlight the quality and diversity of rums from around the world and particularly from the Caribbean.

Kill Devil refers to an ancient West Indian superstition which attributed to rum the power to chase away demons... The inhabitants of the island thus named their distillates “Kill Devil”.
