RUM TWELVE BARBADOS & JAMAICA 65% 50 CL

RUM TWELVE BARBADOS & JAMAICA 65% 50 CL

Twelve Barbados Jamaica is a blend made in Laguiole by Florent Caston, a spirits enthusiast who is also a whiskey producer. It is a blend of three distilleries that are well representative of their island of origin. These three molasses rums have the particularity of having been distilled in a pot still. For Jamaica, there is 35% rum from the Clarendon distillery and 25% rum from Worthy Park. Barbados represents 40% of the blend, with a rum from the Foursquare distillery.

6 barrels were pooled for this vintage, which was aged first in the tropics, then in Aubrac. This rum was bottled at cask strength.

Tasting

The nose is that of a funky and gourmand rum at the same time, generous but not wild, concentrated but pleasant. The exotic fruits are more than ripe, their flesh overflows and unfolds its tropical aromas without any false modesty. Everything is caressed with a handful of very delicious, very pastry-like spices, like in Christmas gingerbread.

Aeration brings tranquility, with a rum that becomes candied and adorned with sweet vegetal notes. Coconut soothes the atmosphere even further, confirming a balance where furiously tropical fruity notes coexist with a certain sweetness of life.

The mouth is very sticky and overbearing. After a very round attack, the rum begins a rise in power which we do not know where it will stop. It places the exotic fruits in a state of intense vibration, and they just have to melt and flow into a well-concentrated syrup.

The finish is calmer, with a light, vanilla woodiness.
