Description

Roussette de Savoie is the specialty of our region and of Domaine de Méjane. This wine is made from the Altesse grape variety, which is not very productive. Altesse thrives on steep, clay-limestone soils and ripens late. Our Altesse plots have a south-facing exposure. According to tradition, the first vines were brought back in 1432 as part of the dowry of Anne of Cyprus, who married Duke Louis II of Savoy. Roussette produces a dry, full-bodied, and very aromatic white wine with aromas of pineapple, lemon, almond, or honey, depending on the terroir.

Color: Beautiful intensity, pale gold with silvery reflections, very beautiful shine and excellent clarity.
Nose: Complex aromas of honey, spiced pine and candied orange, thyme. It's like biting into a sweet treat.
On the palate: Full-bodied, rich, with a long and clean finish. This is a distinguished wine with excellent aging potential. Pleasant aftertaste of white pepper and citrus zest. A persistent, spicy finish.
Serving temperature: Between 8 and 10°C. This wine can age for 3 to 4 years in a good cellar.
