Description
While this Papalin Réunion, aged in French oak barrels, is quite different from the Papalin Haiti, aged in sherry casks, from the same New Vibrations collection, both share a boundless elegance and seductive power. Made from a blend of a high-aromatic rum and three traditional rums, this version invites us to explore its aromatic and flavor profile, which evolves from deeply smoky notes to wonderfully fruity ones with a disarming naturalness.
Tasting notes
Nose : Elegant, complex. On the first nose, a magnificent sequence revealing aromas of orange and chocolate sets the tone for a tasting full of promise. With aeration, very ripe mangoes, mineral aromas (shale), and hydrocarbon vapors admirably enrich the aromatic profile.
Appearance : Old gold with copper highlights.
Palate : Noble, invigorating. On the attack, the oranges detected on the nose release their tangy and fresh juice. More earthy (ginger, gentian), the mid-palate also reveals a touch of sweetness (warm cane sugar). The finish is delicately apricot (pit).
Finish : Long, elegant. Powdery (cocoa, red tea), the finish echoes the fruity character of the nose and palate. Flavors of toffee and oak enrich a very substantial mid-palate. The finish is both naturally fibrous and vegetal (sugarcane).
