William Hinton 3 Year Old is a tribute to a great name in Madeira rum. This Englishman, who arrived on the island in the mid-19th century, developed the sugar and rum industry, building the largest factory/distillery in the country.

The original distillery closed in 1986, but the Engenho Novo team restored its distillation column. They have therefore continued to produce traditional rhum agricole, which they have aged for three years in French oak barrels.
