Uncold filtered single malt matured in small oak barrels that contained bourbon. An official version which revives a tradition dating from the 19th century. Here we are in the presence of the double Laphroaig effect: a fruity sweetness which coats the peat, in other words an iron fist in a velvet glove.
Nose : ample, firm. It is marked by notes of chocolate and fatty peat. Allowed to breathe, it develops iodized and salty notes (seafood) as well as citrus fruits (orange).
Mouth : balanced and remarkably fruity, it develops on roasted coffee. Notes of tar, rubber and sweet spices.
Finish : long, it lingers on exotic fruits (mango, passion fruit) and balsamic notes (noble wood) of great freshness.
