Old Ballantruan is a heavily peated (55 PPM) Speyside whiskey from the Tomintoul distillery. Bottled at 50%, this single malt has aged in bourbon barrels. It is neither colored nor cold filtered. The peat used comes from around the village of Tomintoul. The palate offers sweet peat flavors with hints of citrus and malted hazelnut. The finish is persistent, peaty with a touch of malted barley sweetness. An excellent whiskey to discover!
