Nose : Refined, complex. On the first nose, delicate notes of lavender and orange overlay an increasingly empyreumatic (hail-like) oily peat. With aeration, it develops chocolatey tones. Then, strong spices (clove, black pepper) accompany heady aromas of iris concrete.
Appearance : Orangey copper.
Palate : Lively, powerful. Rooty (ginger, gentian), the initial taste evokes honey candies, gradually revealing medicinal notes (balm). Mineral, the finish is also malty and powdery (cocoa).
Finish : Long, smooth. At the start of the finish, the peat regained its oily character, saturated with minerals. Iodine-like (seaweed, sea spray) and tarry, the aftertaste is imbued with the aromas of a top-shelf Havana cigar.
