Description
A major first for the Welsh distillery Penderyn, which is bottling its first blended malt, made from a blend of its single malt with those from Argentina's first single malt distillery, La Alazana, located in Patagonia. The whiskies are aged in oloroso sherry, brandy, and STR (shaved/toasted/recharred) casks.
Wales shares a common history with Patagonia. On July 28, 1865, 153 Welshmen boarded the Mimosa, bound for Patagonia, to establish a Welsh colony and preserve their culture and language. Expecting to find the green valleys of their homeland, they discovered a desert instead. Times were hard, but miners dug irrigation trenches, and the settlers traded with the Tehuelche people. Today, Patagonia is home to 50,000 people of Welsh descent, 5,000 Welsh speakers, and hosts an annual "Eisteddfodau," a festival celebrating Welsh literature, music, and theatre.

Tasting notes
Nose : Sweet and floral. Orchard fruits (green apples and sweet pears), vanilla, with a hint of honey and caramel.
Palate : Beautifully balanced, with honey, apple and pear tart, and light oak notes. A blend of spices: cinnamon, pepper, cloves, almonds, and soft caramel.
Finish : Dried fruit and sweet spices on the palate.
