Description
Made from the blending of several marks and different vintages, since 2019, the date of its first commercialization, the Great House version from the Hampden distillery allows us to discover this iconic Jamaican rum in a different light each time, like this 2023 edition. Its aromatic and taste profile, particularly mineral, restores with the same intensity the empyreumatic character of the 2022 edition which, on the other hand, proved to be more medicinal.
Tasting notes
Nose : Refined and heady. The initial aromas of sugarcane flower, sugarcane, and vanilla are remarkably distinguished. As the aromatic profile oxidizes, it reveals scents of hydrocarbons, bourbon vanilla, and exotic fruits (pineapple, banana).
Appearance : Deep golden yellow.
Palate : Rich and powerful. Vibrant notes of camphor and vetiver precede clove flavors that gradually coat the palate. Smooth and creamy, the mid-palate is deliciously vanilla, lemon, honey (acacia), and licorice (stick).
Finish : Long and refined. Warm cane sugar flows over the palate. The aftertaste is indulgent, with milky notes (coconut, almond) and subtle aniseed. Hints of ginger, mirabelle plum, and aromatic herbs (wild thyme, sage) prolong the tasting experience.
