Nose : Refined, complex. Very close to a cognac from the Grande Champagne region, the initial nose is tertiary (candied apricot, fallen leaves, undergrowth). With aeration, noble spices (cardamom, nutmeg) and exotic fruits (mango, pomegranate) compete in intensity with notes of precious wood.
Appearance : Old gold with copper highlights.
Palate : Rich, heady. A change of scenery: flavors of cane sugar, molasses, and geranium have taken over the taste buds. Impressively vibrant, the mid-palate is refreshed by freshly squeezed oranges.
Finish : Long and full-bodied. Fibrous (sugarcane), roasted (coffee), and spicy (ginger, cinnamon), the finish reveals floral (reseda, hyacinth) and vegetal (pipe tobacco) notes. Then, nutty aromas (walnut, hazelnut, almond) faithfully recreate the autumnal character of the aromatic profile.
