Octomore 13.3 is a well-balanced, heavily peated Islay whisky . Octomore 13.3 was distilled in 2016 with 100% Islay barley, harvested in 2015 and peated to 129.3 ppm. It was aged in a combination of first-fill ex-American whiskey caks and European oak barrels from Rivesaltes in France and Ribero del Duero in Spain, for five years. The palate offers notes of vanilla, brown sugar, fresh lime and green apple, all wrapped in sweet dry peat smoke, sea salt and creosote with a lingering finish.
TASTING
Nose : Light notes of figs, raisins and dates. Then peaty aromas and floral scents.
Mouth : Fruity and peppery notes then sweetness of barley sugar. Dominance of peat and dried fruits.
Finish : Aromas of charcoal, soot, dried figs. Iodized and lemony notes, bitter chocolate.
