YAMAZAKI 18 years old - 70cl - Suntory

One of the best Japanese whiskies in the world. The legendary YAMAZAKI 18 Year Old has received numerous awards, including a Gold Medal at the 2007 ISC and a Double Gold Medal at the 2005 SWCS.

A clean and precise nose , it evokes sherry with notes of prune, walnut, and raisin. Fruit paste (strawberry, fig). With aeration, it reveals itself to be spicier (cinnamon, black pepper) and more medicinal (arnica).
A supple attack on the palate , it becomes rich and concentrated with sherry notes (toasted hazelnut, almond, bitter cocoa). A veritable basket of dried fruits: raisins, dates. It becomes more woody and slightly bitter with hints of charred oak and catechu.
A very clean and persistent finish , with notes of coffee bean, soot and dark chocolate.
