An iconic estate in Southwest France, Domaine Tariquet is located in Gascony and has belonged to the Grassa family since 1912. Initially, the estate was renowned for its Armagnacs. Then, in 1982, the family decided to venture (successfully) into the production of white wines. Today, the owners offer a range of dry and sweet white wines that enjoy a very good reputation. The vineyard boasts a wide variety of grape varieties (Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sémillon, Gros Manseng, and Petit Manseng), clay-limestone soils, boulbènes (sandy soils), and tawny sands.
In about thirty years, Domaine Tariquet has become one of the largest family-owned wine estates in Europe. Recognized as the king of festive white wines, Domaine Tariquet now cultivates 1,125 hectares of vineyards in Gascony, compared to just 40 hectares in 1972.
