The Bruichladdich distillery is located in Islay, Scotland and was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers and is now owned by the Rémy Cointreau group. With its 6 washbacks and 4 pot stills, Bruichladdich produces around 2 million liters of pure alcohol per year divided between 3 brands of Single Malt Scotch Whiskey: Bruichladdich (unpeated), Port Charlotte (heavily peated) and Octomore (extremely peated). peat).
Tasting
Nose: Wonderfully oxidative, chocolatey, empyreumatic, smoky and earthy, the first nose has a lot of substance.
Taste: Heady floral notes, licorice stick and dark chocolate provide a lively response to incredibly dark peat. Gradually, flavors of pipe tobacco permeate the atmosphere.
Finish: As a final start, candied ginger, fresh walnuts and tar constitute a taste combination.
