The Mars Shinchu distillery, renamed Komagatake in 2016, is located at an altitude of 800 meters in the province of Nagano, benefiting from a cool climate, which allows slow maturation of the single malt it produces.
Distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2022, it delivers a delicate, refined and mineral single malt with notes of exotic fruits, herbaceous freshness and a honeyed sweetness.
Tasting notes
Nose: Vanilla, exotic fruits (pineapple, banana), aromatic plants (bay leaf, sage), candied ginger.
Taste: Refined, delicate, vanilla, citrus (lemon, grapefruit) coconut, honey, then a magnificent herbaceous sequence.
Finish: Long, fresh, slightly sweet, banana, green walnut.
